The Airport Police Department (APD) of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the bottle was half-filled with alcohol. The bottle was cut in half so that the fetus could be placed inside, then put together again with packing tape. The bottle was wrapped in a plastic bag.
It was placed inside the trash can of the ladies room at the West Satellite, NAIA Terminal 1.
Elsa Abello of MIAA Janitorial Maintenance, said at around 1:30 p.m. yesterday, she saw a female passenger entering the ladies room of Boarding Gate 10 holding a plastic mineral water bottle.
Minutes later, the passenger left hurriedly our a Singapore Airlines flight, which left for Singapore at 2:39 p.m.
When Abello entered the ladies room, she noticed the bottle wrapped in a plastic bag inside the trash can.
She was shocked to find that a fetus was inside the bottle so she called the airport police.
APD investigator PO3 Melencio Melencio and Senior Inspector Charita Aviso were called to investigate the case.
The woman that left the bottle was never identified.
This is the first time a fetus has been dumped inside a NAIA terminal restroom. Sandy Araneta
