It began with a Fun-run at around 1:30 p.m., led by the 29-year-old legislator. Youth from all over Valenzuela City converged at four sites and then proceeded to the Jesus is Our Life Church grounds in Barangay Maysan where the event was held. Issues about poverty, drugs, environmental management and conservation were discussed. Questions about current events such as terrorism and the looming US-led war against Iraq were also raised. The Win Youth Club (WYC) served as facilitators and Rexlon Gatchalian the younger brother of the congressman, acted as moderator during the dialogue.
Seedlings, courtesy of the DENR-NCR were then distributed to the youth participants. The WYC also gave out brochures and flyers that advocated their anti-drug and peace programs.
The Win Youth Club members were sworn into office to confirm Gatchalian’s anti-drug, anti-poverty and pro-environment movement for the youth of Valenzuela City.
