2 foreigners using stolen credit cards arrested

Two foreigners were arrested in Muntinlupa City Monday for engaging in a shopping spree with the use of stolen credit cards.

The suspects were identified as Mocclen Mortes, 43, married, an Iranian national residing at 2440 Kamagong St., Makati City; and Caeren Lucas, 31, a Belgian national, of no known address.

Based on the investigation of SPO4 Armando Alambro of the Muntinlupa City police, the two suspects went shopping at the Alabang Town Center at around 6:50 p.m.

In one of the stores, the suspects purchased several items and were paying at the counter when the cashier discovered that the credit cards they submitted were stolen. She called the police which led to the arrest of the two foreigners.

Upon interrogation, the investigators found out that the two suspects had purchased more than P90,000 worth of appliances at the mall using the stolen credit cards.

The investigators also disclosed that the two foreigners tried to bribe them. Both suspects are facing a charge of estafa before the Prosecutors Office of Muntinlupa. – Marvin Sy
