The victim, whose identity is withheld, was first taken by concerned neighbors to the Women’s and Children’s Desk of the Western Police District Headquarters at 10 a.m. yesterday after the alleged mauling.
She told probers that she was sleeping inside their house at 2016 Katamana St., Tondo, Manila when she was roused by her father Rigor Loteyro, 29 and asked if she had seen a plastic sachet containing shabu.
She answered that she had thrown it away along with other trash when she cleaned the house. This reportedly angered Loteyro who then went out of the house.
Police said Loteyro returned several minutes later and again roused the girl from sleep. After rousing the girl, Loteyro allegedly began angrily punching and kicking her in various parts of the body.
Apparently not contended, Loteyro also allegedly picked her up and slammed her into the cabinet where he allegedly keeps his drugs. Loteyro then left his badly-beaten daughter.
Hearing the commotion, concerned neighbors rushed to the house and rescued the girl. Police meanwhile are tracking down her sadistic father.
The victim, now under the care of the DSWD, sustained bruises and contusions in the lips, eyes and many other parts of the body. – Mike Frialde
