CEBU, Philippines - A Consolacion municipal councilor yesterday said that a number of resolutions and ordinances have been approved by the council and the implementation is with the executive department.
Councilor Nilo Ferraren told The FREEMAN that he had sponsored a number of resolutions and ordinances and hopes that the executive department will include this for its immediate implementation.
One of Ferraren's resolution requests the Bureau of Fire and Protection of Consolacion to immediately coordinate with the Metro Cebu Water District and other water service providers in the town for the installation of a fire hydrant within the vicinity and interior roads of Barangays Pulpogan, Cansaga, Nangka, Tayud, Poblacion Oriental, and Poblacion Occidental.
Another resolution by Ferraren requests Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia to allocate P10,000 bags of cement for the cementing of barangay and municipal roads.
The municipal council also approved a resolution requesting sixth district Congressman Gabriel Luis Quisumbing for financial assistance for the construction of the roofing of the open ground of Nangka Elementary School.
Another Ferraren resolution requests Mayor Teresa Alegado through the Municipal Administrator Crispin Caneda to direct the Municipal Engineering Office to prepare the necessary program of work for the partial development of the land which lies between the Consolacion Community College and the future proposed Consolacion Sports Complex and Activity Center intended for the cultural activities, Agro Fair and sports activities in line with the upcoming 2011 Fiesta Celebration and later part of the "Adlaw sa Consolacion" celebration.
Being a sportsman, Ferraren is also responsible for the approval of the ordinance creating the Municipality of Consolacion the Sports Development Commission. (FREEMAN)
