For your viewing pleasure

Here in Milan, fashion is the city’s biggest draw. Always ahead of the game, it provides visitors with a unique shopping experience. Every store is a sight to behold with impressive window displays to boot. Mannequins in different poses are dressed up in an assortment of fashions sparking a lot of interest among passers by. With such innovative displays, window shopping itself has turned into an activity for tourists and locals alike. Four busy streets, namely Via Montenapoleone, Via Sant’Andrea, Via Della Spiga and Via  Manzoni are able to capture just that. Lined up with big league fashion boutiques, they are able to seduce and excite the senses.

What makes window displays here special is that each one looks startlingly different from the other. Fashion houses know the importance of good window displays and how it can promote the image and theme of the brand successfully. They are able to stretch the limits of the imagination over and over again with the use of great design. With this in mind, a huge budget is allocated for props and lighting to make sure that new merchandise is seen to its best advantage.  Thus, every display is able to tell a story, its own fantasy.  While some brands like to keep it clean and simple, others are more playful and partial to color. Others take a completely different route and keep things unexpected. But what’s interesting to note is that no matter what direction they take, all brands are able to attract the same amount of attention.

Here at YStyle, we take you with us to one of the world’s fashion capitals and give you a glimpse of the best window displays for spring/summer 2010.
