A weekend of exhilarating action took place at the mesmerizing Panglao Island in Bohol as the top-notch 5-star resort The Bellevue Resort, owned and managed by The Bellevue Hotels and Resorts (BH&R) headed by chairman Johnny Chan, The Bellevue Manila managing director Patrick Chan, B Hotels managing director Ryan Chan and The Bellevue Resort managing director Dustin Chan, sponsored two back-to-back sporting events – Epic Bohol and Swim Our Islands. A two-day training camp consisting of a bike clinic and a run clinic, Epic Bohol was organized by Alpha Training Systems director and head coach Andy Leuterio. Participants of the bike clinic had to finish a bike ride around the scenic routes of Bohol including the famed Chocolate Hills while the run clinic activities were done at the resort’s beachfront. Meanwhile, Swim Our Islands was an extreme open water race organized by The Swim Academy founder and head coach John Mark “Moi” Yamoyam. To cap off the exciting weekend, an awarding ceremony for the winners was held at The Bellevue Resort Pavilion and attended by the athletes, noted personalities like Bohol provincial administrator Alfonso Damalerio and the organizers committee led by Ryan Chan and coaches Andy Leuterio and Moi Yamoyam.
A better economic setting
The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) headed by president Francisco del Rosario Jr. held its Economic Briefing event at The Peninsula Manila in Makati City with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. and Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) president Lorenzo Tan as guest speakers. Organized by the MAP Membership Committee led by chair Mel Salazar and vice-chair Grace Palma-Tiongco, the event provided a good opportunity for members to get different perspectives on the country’s economic outlook and learn how to meet the business opportunities and challenges they are bound to face.
