MANILA, Philippines - Wine Story, a fine and rare wines merchant (with store branches at the ground floor of Shangri-La Plaza Mall and at Serendra, Taguig), offers wine appreciation courses and training.
Through its affiliate, AWSEC Philippines, Asia’s longest-established premier wine education provider, Wine Story hopes to increase wine enthusiasts’ knowledge for and enjoyment of wines by combining theoretical knowledge with practical wine tasting.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, AWSEC is the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) approved program provider for running internationally recognized qualification courses and examinations at the basic, intermediate, and advanced level. WSET qualifications are internationally recognized and currently represented in over 50 countries throughout the world. “We want to make wine accessible, to remove the mystery,” says Wine Story managing director Romy Sia.
Slated on Aug. 13 is the WSET Foundation Certificate Course in Wines (Level 1), which will be followed by an exam on Aug. 26 at Wine Story, ground floor, Shangri-La Mall, Mandaluyong City. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 10.
