MANILA, Philippines (Update 2, 10:51 a.m.) — Various cities in Metro Manila and other provinces have suspended classes at all levels on Friday, August 22, citing adverse weather conditions brought by a low pressure area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

The announcements were made as of 9:00 a.m. Friday, as local government units assess weather conditions in their respective jurisdictions.

Below is a running list of class suspensions:

Metro Manila

 

  • Las Piñas City – all levels, public and private
  • Muntinlupa City – all levels, public and private
  • Parañaque City – all levels, public and private
  • Manila – all levels, public and private, from noon onwards
  • Pasay City – all levels, public and private, from noon onwards
  • Caloocan City – all levels, public and private, afternoon classes
  • Taguig City – all levels, public and private, afternoon classes
  • Mandaluyong City – all levels, public and private, afternoon classes

Region IV-A

  • Laguna province
    • Cabuyao – all levels, public and private
    • Pagsanjan – all levels, public and private
    • Sta. Rosa – pre-school to senior high school, public schools only, face-to-face
    • Sta. Cruz – pre-school to senior high school, public schools only, face-to-face
    • Pila – pre-school to senior high school, public and private
  • Quezon
    • Macalelon – all levels, public and private

Region IV-B

  • Rizal province
    • Jalajala – all levels, public and private

Region V

  • Albay – all levels, public and private
