Marcos appoints new envoys, government officials

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed new ambassadors, including to Australia and Qatar, as well as officials in different agencies.

Antonio Morales was named ambassador to Australia, with concurrent jurisdiction over Nauru, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Mardomel Celo Melicor was appointed ambassador to Qatar.

Marcos also named Domingo Nolasco as ambassador to Finland.

Nina Cainglet was named ambassador to Bangladesh, with concurrent jurisdiction over Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Also appointed was Adrian Bernie Candolada as ambassador to Colombia, with concurrent jurisdiction over Ecuador and Venezuela.

The President appointed Mary Ann Maestral as undersecretary of the Department of Health; Irene Dumlao as assistant secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development; Ermelita Valdeavilla as chair of the Philippine Commission on Women and Carlitos Ceniza and Mary Rose Villaflor as assistant secretaries of the National Anti-Poverty Commission.

He also named Nannette Villamor-Dinopol as deputy administrator of the Maritime Industry Authority.

The new appointees were announced by the Presidential Communications Office on Facebook yesterday.
