MANILA, Philippines - Fans in Manila came in droves to see Korean star Lee Min Ho, who is currently in the country for the launch of a restaurant chain on Tuesday.
The actor -- who became popular in the Philippines thanks to his locally-aired Korean dramas “Boys Over Flowers,” “City Hunter” and “The Heirs” -- headlined the Philippine grand launch of Korean fried chicken chain Kyochon at the Greenhills Theater Mall in San Juan City.
Min Ho endorses Kyochon in Korea. In the Philippines, the restaurant chain has branches in SM Megamall, SM Fairview and Greenhills Shopping Center.
“Na-miss ko kayo,” Min Ho told his fans at the start of the event. This is the fourth time the Korean star visited the Philippines.
Min Ho also said he’s excited for Filipino fans to watch his movie “Gangnam Blues,” which will open in local theater next month.
“Mahal ko kayo,” the Korean actor said, adding he wants to be able to perform for fans the next time he visits the country.
According to San Juan City Vice Mayor Francis Zamora, who was present during the event to welcome Min Ho, more than a thousand people attended the launch.
