MANILA, Philippines - As part of its recent America in 3D festivities, the US Embassy in Manila highlighted the different American music genres in a series of concerts at the SM Mall of Asia.

Some artists thrilled the mall crowd with their interpretations of well-loved American music in different genres: Charice and Jed Madela with pop; Luke Mejares with R&B; Razorback with rock; the Flippin Soul Stompers with jazz and blues; Prasia with gospel songs; and The Crew, which danced to American hip-hop songs.

The US Navy’s 7th Fleet Band, The Orient Express performed well-loved American songs, while the World Championship of Performing Arts sang the Philippine and US National Anthems.

It is a unique road show showcasing the US Embassy and its programs, services and people throughout the Philippines.

America in 3D is a unique road show showcasing the US Embassy and its programs, services, and people throughout the Philippines. The three “Ds”: Development, Diplomacy and Defense were highlighted through colorful interaction points, displays and special informational sessions.

Other highlights included a cooking demo by American Chef Grant Gordon and pastry chef Jill Sandique; food sampling of American products; a Reading Corner, where American officers read American stories to children at the Vitapops Inventors’ Lab; a vintage car and motorcycle show; a film screening of Alagwa and a study in the US presentation at the SM Cinema, US visa inquiries, and a Fun Run and a Chalk Art Festival Competition at the SM By the Bay.

The US Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg was present in all the mall events, and was welcomed by SM officials led by The SM Store president Jorge Mendiola.

America in 3D is one of the many enriching cultural events at the SM Mall of Asia.
