Cebuano darters gun for national training pool berths

Cebuano darters hope to make it to the national pool via the DCP-SCUDA National Open Singles Darts Championships in San Carlos City from July 20 to 22.

The selected darters by the Darts Council of the Philippines after a couple of elimination will be representing the country to the 2008 Asia-Pacific Cup in New Zealand.

Three Cebu-based clubs have already sent feelers to join the event. These are the City Hall Employees Darts Association (CHEDA), Ramax and ECE New York.

CHEDA’s bets to the three-day tilt are Bert Colong Jr, Roy Laude, Winnie Ocañada, Itong Badayos, and William Encorporado, while Ramax Darts Club will be fielding in Raymund Sulas, Sgt.Boy Calma, and Peter Kairuz.

Cebu ECE New York, on the other hand, will have Jerous Ponce, Allan Bejuna, Freddie Granada, and Alvin Villa.

Anafe Villa, a well-known player and organizer, will also compete under Terton’s name. She is the only female darter from Cebu that hopes to make it to the RP Women’s team. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
