CEBU, Philippines - Like in the previous Valentines’ Days, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will be spending the day of hearts with her constituents.
Today, she will tour some towns in the south to turn over assistance and inaugurate projects. Garcia will go to Dumanjug, the hometown of the Garcias, then to Ronda, Barili and Carcar City.
Garcia said she is making it a point that her celebration of Valentines’ Day would be a day of unconditional love for her constituents.
“I make it a point nga we are not spending that pursuing our personal comfort and our own personal love interest. Ato gyud nang ihatag sa katawhan,” she said.
The theme for today’s project, the governor said, is “Gugma na way paglubad; tim-os na pag-alagad,” a shift from her previous theme, “Bisan saging, basta labing.”
“Dili one shot deal lang ang pagtabag, kung mutukar lang ang gana. You have to have a consistency. No matter if gets too tiresome or exhausting, imo na man na nasugdan, imo gyud nang ipadayon,” she said.
In Dumanjug, Garcia will hand over insurance cards from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation to 700 farmers and fisher folk. PCIC President Jovy Bernabe will join the entourage, Garcia said.
She will also lead the distribution of banana suckers, sweet potato seedlings, nymph seedlings and goats for her goat dispersal program to the farmers and fisher folk.
The governor will also distribute multicabs to some barangays, as well as the yearly allowance for barangay tanods and barangay health workers.
The entourage will then proceed to Ronda where Garcia would lead the inauguration of the municipal public market. Their itinerary includes the giving out of relief commodities to affected families in Barangay Vive.
From Ronda, Garcia said they will go back to Dumanjug to inaugurate four school buildings as well as in Barili, their next stop.
The last stop will be Valladolid in Carcar City for a street lighting activity and inauguration of the Carcar museum. (FREEMAN)
