Norkis opens Heroes Hall in Mandaue

CEBU, Philippines - Senator Panfilo Lacson yesterday lauded the family of Businessman Norberto Quisumbing Jr. for initiating a project to honor Filipinos who work for the good of the country.

Lacson was guest in the blessing and opening of the Heroes Hall at the Norkis Park on Plaridel Street in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City. The Heroes Hall, for one, features the leaders of the country.

Lacson said the Heroes Hall will educate children by making them aware of the sacrifices of the Filipino to improve the Philippines.

Vice Governor Agnes Magpale who represented Governor Gwen Garcia said the Heroes Hall is a laudable initiative. She said the project will contribute greatly to the pursuit of quality education.

For his part, Mayor Jonas Cortes said the Quisumbing family has always been supportive of Mandaue City.

Quisumbing, the grandfather of Sixth District Rep. Gabriel Luigi Quisumbing, reportedly started his business in Mandaue City during the term of Mayor Demetrio Cortes, the father of Mayor Jonas Cortes.

The older Quisumbing, on the other hand, said hopes that the Heroes Hall will help the people be aware of the hardships of Filipino Heroes. — (FREEMAN)
