CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Provincial Board Member Arleigh Sitoy has proposed a resolution urging all traffic management personnel in the province to wear luminous uniforms or reflective traffic vests to be effective in managing traffic.
In a resolution he filed for tomorrow’s session, Sitoy said that it has been observed that most traffic personnel are not properly equipped and that their personal safety while performing their duties must be ensured.
With this, he said there is a need for all traffic enforcers to wear luminous uniforms or reflective traffic vests so they would be more visible especially during night time.
The local government units must give importance in providing such vests for their enforcers, added the provincial lawmaker.
Meanwhile, in a separate resolution, Sitoy is also urging all local government units to make appropriate markers on the pedestrian lanes on highways within the province to avoid accidents.
In his resolution, Sitoy stated that there are many highway pavements in some roads of the province which do not have any proper markings for pedestrian lanes.
He added that the absence of such necessary road markers are also a cause of road accidents as people along the highways would not know where to cross.
He further stressed that it is only through these markers that the drivers of buses and other vehicles can be guided properly. (FREEMAN NEWS)
