CEBU, Philippines - Seventeen men were arrested after they were reportedly caught in the act of possessing each an ampule of Nalbuphine hydrochloride, or Nubain, shortly before midnight yesterday in barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City.
Operatives of the City Investigation and Detective Management Branch led by Supt. Pablo Labra II conducted a saturation drive around 11 p.m. over the weekend that led to the arrest of the group.
The arresting team was assisted by Cebu City Police Auxiliary Group in conducting the saturation drive against all forms of illegal activities.
The suspects are all residents of the various barangays here in the city. The oldest among the suspects is said to be 49 years old while the youngest is 18 years old.
The suspects are now detained at the Cebu City Police Office stockade expecting to face charges for violation of City Ordinance 1427 which bans the possession of the said regulated drug without medical prescription.
CIDMB also arrested 10 men for alleged loitering in the streets of Cebu City during wee hours. They are now detained and will face charges for vagrancy.
Further, seven men were subsequently arrested during the saturation drive after they were caught in the act of playing the “moli-moli”, an illegal fruit-combination game.
