CEBU, Philippines - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will be in town for two days to grace an international business forum and the wedding of Governor Gwendolyn Garcia’s daughter.
Fayette Riñen, Philippine Information Agency-7 head, in yesterday’s briefing said Arroyo will arrive this 5 p.m.
She will attend the gathering of the Philippine-Russian Business Forum at the Cebu International Convention Center at 8 p.m.
The forum of the Philippine Russian Business Assembly Incorporated (PRBAI) organized by Honorary Consul of Russia Armi Lopez Garcia is expected to draw over 200 participants including 30 foreign delegates.
PRBAI is an international organization that embodies the highest principles driving economic relations between The Republic of the Philippines and the Russian Federation.
Tomorrow at 10 a.m., President Arroyo will swear in officers of the National Executive Council of the Barangay Councilors League of the Philippines at Malacañang sa Sugbo.
Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña will present to Arroyo a copy of a certificate received from the Guinness Book of World Records for staging the world’s largest dance class.
Initiated by Dance Sport Team Cebu City, a total of 7,700 participants gathered for the activity last June 27 at the Cebu City Sports Center beating the record of Budapest, Hungary.
The DanceSport Team will present a seven-minute video and seven-minute presentation to Arroyo.
In the afternoon, Arroyo will be among the sponsors in the wedding of Governor Garcia’s daughter, Atty. Cristina Garcia Codilla, to Liloan Mayor Vincent Franco ‘Duke’ Frasco at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
Arroyo will leave the next day for Leyte.
