First CPPO command conference for 2009 set

CEBU - Police chiefs from across the province will gather at the Capitol Session Hall tomorrow for their first command conference for 2009.

Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Carmelo Valmoria said the conference will assess last year’s performance of the various police stations in the different cities and towns, as well as disseminate to policemen the latest policies within the Philippine National Police.

The conference would also tackle the general guidelines of anti-criminology campaign against illegal drugs, gambling, loose firearms, violation of environmental laws, and wanted persons. Likewise, Valmoria said the decentralization of regulations from different municipalities, which is being implemented nationwide, would also be discussed.

Decentralization involves forwarding to the provincial police office crime incidences from the cities and towns under CPPO using the so-called “Leaders Quick-Look Table,” an Internet-based software that will tally the number of incidences.

Representatives from the various police stations are also expected to present their plans in maintaining peace and order in their jurisdictions and lay down the necessary requirements for operations. — Bentley Naire Luyong, CIT MassCom Intern/JMO   (THE FREEMAN)
