The Rosario dressing plant, one of five plants being operated by Vitarich in Luzon, topped the national level AA category based on cleanliness, capacity, waste management and employee management, according to Danny Tolentino, Vitarich production manager for its Luzon dressing plants.
The award is bestowed by various government agencies, including the Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture under which NMIC falls. The NMIC is the lead agency for the awards.
Managed by Vitarichs long-time business partner, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lolim, the Rosario dressing plant has won similar awards in the regional level during the past seven years as the best plant for Region 1. This is the first time it bagged the national title.
Vitarichs Galantina toll dressing plant in Camarines Sur was likewise named the best and cleanest in Region 5 for plants with a double A rating, meaning the plant produces dressed chicken for national consumption and between regions.
Tolentino said that last year, Vitarichs dressing plant in Marilao, Bulacan, which the company runs directly, also bagged an award in Region 3 in the AAA category, meaning plants that produce chicken for export.
Vitarich delivers bulk of its chicken production, under the brand name Cooks Chicken, to the countrys top hotels, restaurants, food chains and other institutional accounts. These chickens come directly from Vitarichs award-winning dressing plants.
