Pagcor names new president, COO

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin administered the oath of office to lawyer Wilma Eisma, first woman president and COO of state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., in Malacañang on April 18.

MANILA, Philippines — State-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) has welcomed its first woman president and chief operating officer (PCOO).

Lawyer Wilma Eisma recently took her oath before executive secretary Lucas Bersamin and officially assumed the role of PAGCOR’s PCOO.

This came three months after Juanito Sanosa Jr. resigned as PAGCOR PCOO in January.

PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said Eisma would be a great asset to the gaming agency amid her vast experience in both public and private sectors.

Prior to joining PAGCOR, Eisma served as one of the board of directors of the government-owned Development Bank of the Philippines for two years.

Before her banking stint, Eisma was also the first woman administrator and chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority during the Duterte administration.

In the private sector, Eisma held various leadership roles in PMFTC Inc., the Philippine affiliate of Philip Morris International, where she handled sustainability and contributions, public affairs and contributions as well as government and community relations.

She also held key positions at the Department of Trade and Industry as well as in the office of the majority leader in the House of Representatives.

Eisma earned her law degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.
