ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Seven people believed victims of human trafficking were rescued in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on Monday.
Members of the Philippine Coast Guard intercepted the victims on board a commercial vessel that docked at the port of Bongao on their way to Malaysia.
The victims were brought to the Maritime Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking for debriefing before they were turned over to the ministry of social services and development office for proper disposition.
