BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Dried marijuana stalks and fully grown plants with an estimated street value of P10.8 million were seized in separate anti-narcotics operations in Benguet over the weekend.

A joint team of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) discovered 90 kilos of dried marijuana stalks with fruiting tops in Kibungan town.

Reports said the marijuana stalks were found in a shed in Sitio Ginawang, Barangay Poblacion.

Meanwhile, in nearby Mankayan town, another team of police and PDEA agents destroyed fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P12,000 in Sitio Dowag, Barangay Guinaoang.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. David Peredo said the raid, seizure and destruction of marijuana plants and stalks were properly documented.

Peredo said samples of the seized marijuana were submitted to the regional police forensics unit for testing.
