MANILA, Philippines — As Tropical Storm Aghon continued to pummel many parts of the country, President Marcos yesterday appealed to the public to remain vigilant even as he ordered all concerned agencies and local government units to extend necessary assistance to those affected by the weather disturbance.

“As Tropical Storm Aghon continues to move across our country, I urge everyone in the affected areas to stay vigilant and prioritize your safety. The well-being of our people is our utmost priority,” Marcos said in a post on X.

“Let us all look out for one another, especially the most vulnerable members of our communities. Together, we will get through this storm,” he added.

Marcos ordered the immediate provision of government assistance, including food and non-food items as well as medical services, to those living along the path of Aghon.

“I have directed local government units, emergency services and all relevant agencies to work tirelessly in monitoring the situation and providing necessary assistance,” the Chief Executive said.

Marcos said food and non-food items, health services and evacuation centers are being mobilized to support affected communities.

“Stay safe, and may God bless us all,” the President said.
