MANILA, Philippines — Women leaders and changemakers will headline The Philippine STAR and PhilStar Life’s She Slays 2023 tomorrow at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura.

Now in its third year and the first to be held in-person, She Slays is back, all leveled up and raring to deliver its biggest, most exciting FestiGal yet.

As this year’s Women’s Month ends, the event is expected to be a huge celebration, one that befits every woman, with no less than the trailblazing Mariana Zobel de Ayala.

Mariana Zobel de Ayala is senior vice president at Bank of the Philippine Islands, driving marketing and digital platforms for the consumer bank, and board director and advisory committee member of several Ayala Group companies.

She also serves on the global board of U-Go, which looks to drive education equality in emerging markets by providing scholarship grants to women looking to pursue university education.

Together with John Wood, founder of Room to Read, Ms. Zobel de Ayala helped establish the Philippines as the 7th beneficiary market for U-Go. In partnership with Ayala Foundation, U-Go Philippines will aim to enable 1,000 young Filipina women scholars in their pursuit of university education by 2025.

Mariana Zobel de Ayala will share her story on how she has built her own future while helping build the future of so many others, and of the country. She will give women the motivation and solid tools they need to become FutureMakers themselves.

Aside from the keynote talk, the event will have three panel discussions, each with its own informative and uplifting theme.

Panel 1 will carry the theme “The Future Begins with Me,” which will revolve around mental and physical health, as well as financial literacy. Panelists include Avril Rodriguez, founding consultant, Complementary Medicine Service-St. Luke’s BGC; Rosemarie Bosch Ong, SEVP-chief operating officer, Wilcon Depot; Nicole Alba, content creator on personal finance, investing, and self- development; and Roche Vandenberghe, chief marketing and digital business officer, FWD.

“My Passion Fuels the Future,” is the theme of the second panel discussion. It will explore self-development and finding one’s purpose. Panelists are Anna Oposa, founder of Save the Philippine Seas and TOYM 2023 awardee; Tasha Tanjutco, co-founder of Kids for Kids; and Margarita Atayde, executive director of Corazon Sanchez Atayde Memorial Foundation.

Lastly, panel 3 will have “Embracing the Future” as its theme, which will delve into how to find success with technology and social media. Panelists will be Lea Cruz-Inocian, managing director of Unbox Creator Network and Tech Lifestyle editor for Unbox PH; and Dr. Chelsea Samson, chief business and medical affairs officer of KonsultaMD.

Serving as moderator in all panel discussions is TV and events host Danie Laurel. She Slays’ culminating event will also feature powerful performances by female performers KLLY, dwta, MI MI, Illest Morena, YARA, DENY and CALISTA PH.

With a dynamic post-pandemic world as the backdrop, the event will bring together generations of she-changemakers, each with a different story to tell, but bound by a common goal—to help inspire an amazin’, slayin’ future!

She Slays 2023 celebrates Filipinas who have made a positive impact in their respective fields and industries, while inspiring younger ones who dream of joining their ranks to spark their own change, in their own way.
