Taste Buddies take Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - This Saturday, Solenn Heussaff, Iya Villania and Alden Richards go on a city tour, guided by their food cravings. They visit the city of Malabon and rediscover dishes that put the city on every foodie’s map.

At Josephine’s, they find out how an ordinary pancit becomes a Pancit Malabon. They also raid the kitchen of Dolor’s Kakanin for pasalubong like the original sapin-sapin and some varieties of kakanin.

Like the traditional recipes of Malabon, the hosts learn that every chef leaves a mark on each dish they prepare as Iya visits Victor Neri at his new resto named Sauté. Saab Magalona, meanwhile, samples authentic Peruvian dishes at Don Andres.

Iyan Na ’Yun offers tips on how to leave one’s artful mark at home with a D-I-Y painting that only requires a brick, a string and a paint, while Ganda! Kayang-kaya! discusses how one should choose a necklace to match a specific top’s neckline.

Tune in to Taste Buddies Saturday nights at 8:45 p.m. on GMA News TV.
