MANILA, Philippines — Gambling platform DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is infiltrating the Brazilian market next week, with its international brand GamePlus coming in first, to be followed by BingoPlus in 2026.
DigiPlus yesterday said it has firmed up its Sept. 22 entry into Brazil, marking the first international expansion for the listed online gambling provider.
DigiPlus is entering a market known for its stringent rules on gambling yet its population is hooked on various forms of betting, paving the way for the rise of online gaming.
Brazil showed its potential as a gambling market when it generated $3.2 billion in gross gaming revenues in the first half.
DigiPlus chairman Eusebio Tanco is confident the company can thrive in Brazil’s highly competitive and tightly regulated space.
“We are incredibly excited to launch our first brand in Brazil this September. Our entry into this dynamic market is the culmination of our global-first mindset, strong collaboration between our teams and an unwavering commitment to responsible gaming operations,” Tanco said.
DigiPlus will launch its international brand GamePlus in Brazil which will feature a catalog of more than 150 games.
DigiPlus country manager for Brazil Graham Tidey said GamePlus developed games inspired by Brazil’s local folklore and traditions to ensure a culturally resonant experience for customers.
GamePlus will operate games both on free-to-play and real-money versions and is designed to penetrate a strategic vertical for DigiPlus.
Afterward, DigiPlus will launch BingoPlus as its second platform in Brazil next year. Tanco said the company is serious in its push to become a global leader in online gambling.
“Our teams have worked diligently to create a platform that is not only robust and secure but also culturally-resonant. We are committed to fostering a strong local talent base and ensuring that the offerings are perfectly tailored for Brazilian players, from exclusive games, to player protection measures,” he said.
Locally, DigiPlus is leading fellow providers in the push to keep the industry safe from any ban, as legislators scrutinize the social cost of online gambling, particularly to the youth.
DigiPlus, operator of ArenaPlus, BingoPlus and GameZone, booked an P8.4-billion profit in the first half, up by 61 percent from a year ago, reaping gains from the popularity of online gambling.
