LAPU-LAPU. The news says Lapu-Lapu the hero is coming home to Lapu-Lapu City from Luneta. An Ear informer, a Cebuano residing in Manila, says Lapu-Lapu is coming home because he is not wanted by Manilans. "Truth to tell," our informer says, "Lapu-Lapu was once driven out of the Luneta but came back upon the insistence of former Sen. Dick Gordon."
RIZAL. Stories making the rounds of some respectable places in Manila have it that some so-called "nationalist Manilans" have complained about the erection of Lapu-Lapu's statue in Luneta where national hero Jose Rizal also stands. They say Lapu-Lapu's statue is taller than Rizal's and he's not properly dressed.
