CEBU, Philippines — Some members of the Gealon Racing Team-Break 100 made their presence felt in the highly successful SM2SM Run 2025 that drew a record of 14, 612 runners over the weekend.

Judge Hazel Caraballe courageously endured an ankle injury early on to land at a decent sixth place in the women’s 12K category with a time of one hour and three minutes.

Her ultramarathoner teammate Andy Toniacao took the eight spot in the tough men’s 21K division with a time of one  hour and 18 minutes.

The rest of the team also finished strong in Fiscal Jill Ann Gealon, Limito Caraballe Jr., Santiago Oralde, Jhonelle Tibay, Mikko Laguda, Alkin Ando, Richard Celestial, Michael Vasaya, Cesar and Chester Rago as well as coach Alex Cabando.

In Bohol, GRT’s ace runner Kelvin Boyles emerged as champion in the 32K battle of the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) Run.

Interestingly, Boyles also ran the 6K distance of the same event as part of his recovery.

Over in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, triathlete Rudy Niño Singular bagged the first runner-up honors in 1st Sinigayan 51.50 Triathlon.

Cebu City Councilor Atty. Rey Gealon, the manager of GRT, was all praises for the team’s remarkable performance. Most of all, he thanked God for protecting all athletes from harm or injury. — (FREEMAN)
