Lee, Hallasgo rule DSOS footrace

CEBU, Philippines — Prince Joey Lee and Christine Hallasgo emerged as the biggest winners as they dominated their respective divisions in the 21K half marathon of the Don Sergio Osmeña Sr. Run yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Lee clinched the men's open title after crossing the finish line in one hour, 15 minutes and 26 seconds. Keenan Lou James Caburnay settled for second in 1:15:50 followed by Erlinlito Peonila in 1:16:29 for third place.

In the distaff side, Hallasgo won the women's tiara in one hour, 26 minutes and 41 seconds. She dethroned Ruffa Sorongon who placed second with a time of 1:31:03, while Evamie Villarin wound up third in 1:35:23.

Meanwhile, Kenyan Joseph Mururi topped the 21K foreign category in 1:13:23, clocking.

The 10K age-groups winners were  Alex Loloy (43:17) and Rosalinda Cosino (50:51) in the 50-59 category. Desiderio Engbino (38:10) and Sandra Soliano (46:34)in the 40-49 while Noel Tillor (35:42) and Mereeis Ramirez (46:27) dominated the 30-39 class.

Jovan Bensig (17:10) dominated the 5K men's class followed by  Darwin Lucay-Lucay Jr. (17:30) and Rinmarch Gonzaga (17:40), while the top finishers in the women's were Karen Andrea Manayon (19:26), Marielle Estreba (19:35) and Charisse Claire Encarnacion (19:50).

Nexus Ezequiel Tabar (12:35) snared the 3K men's title, while Alyssa Daffodil Tabar (13:17) was hailed as the women's champ. (FREEMAN)
