Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Following his landslide reelection as the number one councilor of Toledo City in the May 12 midterm elections, Councilor Ricardo  Kuya Nick  Pepito has officially declared his intention to seek another term as President of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL)   Cebu Provincial Federation.

Pepito made the declaration during the end-of-term gathering of PCL-Cebu held recently in Lapu-Lapu City.

In his address to fellow councilors, Pepito appealed for their continued support a request that drew an enthusiastic "yes" from the crowd.

Today is not just a closing ceremony. It is a celebration of service, of unity, and of commitment. Sa tibuok termino, atong nakita kung unsa kakusgan ang panaghiusa sa mga konsehal sa Sugbo. We stood together in challenges, and we celebrated each other s victories,  he said, speaking before councilors, supporters, and guests.

Currently serving as an ex-officio member of the Cebu Provincial Board, Pepito emphasized his desire to carry on the federation s vision and further strengthen the unity they have forged not just as colleagues in government, but as a family in public service.

Known for his approachable leadership style and commitment to public welfare, Pepito s potential reelection as PCL-Cebu president signals the continuation of programs aimed at empowering local legislators and promoting collaboration among councilors throughout the province.

Sa mga mosunod o mulabay ng panahon, may we continue the vision of PCL Cebu Chapter. Sa uban natong konsehales, it may be the end of your term but know you are redirected to a different path with a bigger purpose. This is not goodbye. Kini usa ka pahimangno nga padayon ang atong misyon. Dili matapos ang serbisyo mulungtad kini hangtod anaa pa kita y kasingkasing sa pagserbisyo sa katawhan,  Pepito added.

In an interview with The Freeman, Pepito said the exact date of the PCL-Cebu elections has yet to be finalized, as it depends on the national PCL schedule.

The PCL-Cebu election will be slated either in August or September this year, depending on the final schedule of the PCL national,  he said.
