CCPO gears up for rainy season

CEBU, Philippines — In anticipation of the upcoming rainy season and possible severe weather events, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has proactively taken measures to enhance disaster preparedness.

This comprehensive assessment, the CCPO said, aims to evaluate and ensure the readiness of police assets and mobilities to effectively respond to various emergencies, including floods, landslides, and other calamities.

The police force in Wednesday, May 21, conducted a simultaneous inspection of PNP Disaster Response Equipment Capabilities via Zoom, spearheaded by PNP Chief Rommel Marbil.

As among the participants, the CCPO under the leadership of Acting Director PCol. Enrico Figueroa, meticulously examined all disaster response assets and equipment displayed at the CCPO Parade Ground on Gorordo Ave., Cebu City.

The annual activity also served as a vital measure to further develop the operational capability of police units in responding to calamities and other crisis situations.

This initiative not only reinforces the police force’s capacity to respond swiftly and efficiently but also strengthens coordination with partner agencies and local government units within Cebu City, the CCPO said.

“Given the city’s diverse geography, comprising coastal areas and mountain barangays, such preparedness is vital to mitigate the impact of weather-related disasters and safeguard the community’s well-being,” CCPO stated. JG (CEBU NEWS)
