Free anti-rabies shots at Capitol-owned health facilities
CEBU, Philippines — Residents of Cebu Province can now avail of free anti-rabies vaccines from Capitol-operated health facilities, following a directive from Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.
In a memorandum dated February 3, Garcia underscored that this initiative is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to minimize rabies-related casualties and safeguard public health.
“Anti-rabies vaccine shots from first to fourth, can now be obtained from the CPHO (Cebu Provincial Health Office), Provincial, and District Hospitals,” states Memorandum No. 13-2025.
Cebu Province constituents can access these vaccines at the Cebu Provincial Health Office located in the Capitol Compound, Cebu City, as well as at Cebu Provincial Hospitals (CPH) in Balamban, Bogo, Carcar, and Danao City.
The free vaccines are also available at various district hospitals, including Minglanilla District Hospital; Argao District Hospital (Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital); Oslob District Hospital; Malabuyoc District Hospital (Mariano J. Cuenco Memorial Hospital); Badian District Hospital; Barili District Hospital; Tuburan District Hospital; Pinamungajan District Hospital (Dr. Jose Ma. V. Borromeo Memorial District Hospital); Sogod District Hospital (Juan B. Dosado Memorial Hospital); Camotes District Hospital (Ricardo Maningo Memorial Hospital); Daanbantayan District Hospital; and Bantayan District Hospital.
The anti-rabies vaccine is crucial for individuals who have been exposed to the virus through bites, licks, or scratches from animals—particularly dogs—known or suspected to carry rabies. The vaccine helps the body produce its own antibodies against the deadly virus. FPL BANAT NEWS
