CEBU, Philippines — A high-value target included in the police watchlist was arrested at 10:30 p.m. the other night along N. Bacalso Avenue, Sambag 1, Cebu City for allegedly selling and possessing illegal drugs.
The police identified the suspect as Sharadon “Sarah” Avestado, 27, a resident of Sitio Vikings, Alaska Mambaling, Cebu City.
In a joint operation of the Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit and the PNP DEG-7, a police poseur-buyer purchased a medium sachet containing suspected shabu using a P10,000 buy-bust money.
After the sale, the police allegedly also recovered five medium sachet of suspected shabu. About 25 grams of suspected shabu estimated to value P170,000 were seized from her.
The suspect reportedly used a feminine napkin as receptacle of the illegal drug.
In an interview with The FREEMAN, Avestado had admitted to the crime and said she had been doing since early this year. She said, she was just ordered to sell it.
The operation was witnessed by several barangay officials in Sambag 1, the media and one of the personnel of the Department of Justice.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at the Police Station 2 pending the filing of the charges against her. — GAN (FREEMAN)
