CEBU, Philippines - One stormy evening, the three kittens known as Blackfoot, Whitefang and Stripe were having dinner with Brad, the world’s smartest rat.
Well aware of how afraid the three kittens were of thunderstorms, Brad agreed to have dinner with them that evening, sensing that they simply wanted some company until the storm passed by.
As dinner was being served, Brad thought of telling the three kittens a story, one which he figured would help them set their thunderstorm fears aside.
“Little kittens, did you know that we actually have two other guests with us tonight?” asked Brad.
“Eh? Who are you talking about, Brad?” asked Stripe. “Yeah, it’s only us this evening,” said Whitefang. “And no one else is coming since everyone, including Dog-las, is staying indoors because of this storm,” said Blackfoot.
“Ah!” exclaimed Brad. “Then the three of you have not yet heard of the story of Auntie Rumble and her son, Bolt.”
And so, Brad began to tell the story.
“Once upon a time, there lived a mother goat named Auntie Rumble and her mischievous kid named Bolt.”
“Bolt was the source of a lot of headaches for Auntie Rumble, since he always went around destroying things. From the branches of trees to patches of land, anything that Bolt’s horns get in contact with was destroyed, mostly things which were made of iron.”
“One day, the animals of the neighborhood could no longer take any more of Bolt’s nasty rampages. Complaining to Auntie Rumble, the mother goat came to realize how much of a problem her son had grown up to be.”
“It was then that Auntie Rumble decided to move to the sky, where Bolt’s nasty antics would not bother anyone or anything in the neighborhood.”
“At first, the move proved to be effective, but Auntie Rumble soon learned that there were times when the path back to the neighborhood was visible to Bolt, during storms.”
“During these times, Bolt would once again set out and quickly destroy things in the old neighborhood, with Auntie Rumble chasing after him, reprimanding him of his nasty rampages.”
“As we are having dinner this stormy evening, we are actually in the company of Auntie Rumble and Bolt, little kittens, as you can see Bolt’s lightning-quick actions followed by Auntie Rumble’s thunderous reprimands.”
“Though Blot’s lightning is something which you all should avoid, take comfort in knowing that Auntie Rumble’s thunderous reprimands are set in disciplining Bolt.”
“As scary as thunder and lighting can be, taking shelter and knowing that Bolt’s actions are being reprimanded should give you comfort in knowing that all will be well.” (FREEMAN)
