Saso hits albatross

MANILA, Philippines — Fil-Japanese Yuka Saso shot a rare albatross on her way to a six-under 66 in the second round of the LPGA Drive On Championship Friday in Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Arizona.

Saso’s first career albatross sent her to joint 15th at eight-under 136, four strokes off leaders Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand (65), Maddie Szeryk of Canada (65) and Jenny Shun of Korea (67).

Saso hit the rare shot on the par-5 No. 2, where she holed her second shot using a 19-degree hybrid after a 217-yard tee shot.
