MANILA, Philippines - World Boxing Organization (WBO) minimumweight champion Merlito Sabillo declares himself fit and ready for his first title defense against Jorle Estrada of Colombia Saturday at the luxurious Solaire Resort and Casino.
The 29-year-old from Bacolod (22-0) arrived in Manila yesterday after two months of training in Cebu for his 12-round showdown against the WBO No. 6 contender (17-6, 6 KOs).
“I trained hard for this so I’ll not let my countrymen down,†saidRabillo.
Estrada and the rest of the foreign fighters are set to arrive in the country today.
In winning the WBO 105-lbs. title, Sabillo scored an eight-round technical knockout against another Colombian in Luis dela Rosa last March.
