MANILA, Philippines - Triathlon Association of the Philippines is treating duathletes and triathletes to back-to-back races on two consecutive weekends before the Christmas season.
Duathletes take center stage during the ITU Subic Bay Duathlon Open 2010 slated at the country’s home of triathlon and duathlon – the Subic Bay Freeport Zone – on Nov. 21.
The third Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon in the world-class Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club (ACBNC) in Bataan provides the platform for the triathletes to shine on Nov. 27-28.
Top duathletes from different countries are seen to scramble for points to improve their world or Asian ranking as the ITU Subic Bay Duathlon tilt sponsored by Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Citibank, Fitness First, David’s Salon, Gatorade, Sunkist, Vitwater, and Philippine Sports Commission substitutes the cancelled 2010 Asian Duathlon Championship.
Competitions in the duathlon event are the standard duathlon (10K run–40K bike–5K run), sprint (5K run-20K bike-2.5K run) for the 16 years-over, youth mini sprint (2.5K run-10K bike-2.5K run) for 13-15 and super TriKids for 12-below.
Super TriKids Aquathlon for 8-under (25m swim-200m run) and sprint relay for 2 or 3-members team of any gender (1K swim-30K bike-5K run) are to be introduced in the triathlon bash.
