Over 5,000 vie in Condura Run; Desamito top choice

MANILA, Philippines – Over 5,000 runners are competing in the Condura Run slated Sunday at the Global City in Taguig.

Sanctioned by PATAFA and organized by Concepcion Industries, Inc., the race starts on 28th St. at the Global City in Taguig and will pass the Kalayaan flyover and Gil Puyat Ave. in Makati on the way to the Magallanes off ramp of the Sky Way for the 21K turn around.

The 10K runners will make their turn-around on Nicanor Garcia St. in Makati.

Registration ended yesterday at the Greenhills Annapolis registration center but those interested can still submit their registration forms at the Nike store at the Bonifacio High Street in Global City.

The run, held in partnership with Skyway, Vitwater, Nike, Canon, Jollibee, Cebu Pacific and the Bonifacio Development Corporation, offers a total cash prize of P80,000 with all finishers of the 21K run receiving medals.

All finishers will receive certificates of completion. All entries have been issued Condura Run t-shirts with an imprint of the whale sharks of Donsol.

Vying for top honors in the 21K half marathon are Bernardo Desamito, Alley Quisay, Alquin Bolivar. Mercedita Manipol Fetalvero is the top pick in the distaff side.

Race organizer Rudy Biscocho advised all participants to be at the starting area not later than 5 a.m. for pre-race briefing. He also announced that cut off time for the 21K is three and half hours.
