Two-time defending league scoring champion Mark Caguioa is arriving from the United States today and is likely to give Ginebra added boost as it plays back-to-back games against Air21 Friday and Magnolia Sunday in the Smart PBA Philippine Cup.
Caguioa has missed their first six games in the season as he suffered a shoulder injury during the RP-Jordan knockout game in the recent Asian Olympic qualifier in Tokushima, Japan.
Minus the 6-foot-1 workhorse, the Kings, the reigning All-Filipino champions, went to a struggling start, losing four of their first five outings. They ended a four-game slump versus the Sta. Lucia Realtors Saturday in Gen. Santos City on the return of Eric Menk.
Ginebra board representative Robert Non said Caguioa is back in shape, fully recovered from his injury in the US.
The Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants seek a seventh straight win as they play the Air21 Express at the resumption of play at the Araneta Coliseum today. Sta. Lucia and Coca-Cola play in the 7:20 p.m. main game with both looking to work their way out of the cellar.
