Canino, Belen magkaibigan sa labas ng court

MANILA, Philippines — Magkaribal sina La Salle rookie Angel Canino at National University wing spiker Bella Belen sa loob ng court.

Kapuna-puna ang swag nina Canino at Belen sa UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament.

Ngunit tiniyak ng da­lawa na magkaibigan ito sa labas ng court at mataas ang kanilang respeto sa isa’t isa.

Itinanghal na Roo­kie-MVP si Belen noong UAAP Season 84 habang naduplika ito ni Canino nang tanghaling Rookie-MVP sa Season 85.

Dahil dito, pinarangalan sina Canino at Belen ng UAAP Volleyball Player of the Year awards.

“I’m honored and proud that she was the ROTY-MVP that I succeeded,” ani Canino.

Kuwento ni Canino, magkasama sila ni Belen sa kampanya sa Asean School Games na ginanap noong 2019.

“I was an audience too during Season 84 and seeing ate Bella play inspired me. We were teammates in Asean and I saw her hard work there and it continued and paid off in the UAAP. I’m really proud of her,” ani Canino.

Masaya si Belen sa tagumpay na nakamit ni Canino.

Sinabi ni Belen na bu­nga ito ng pagsisikap ni Canino kaya’t karapat dapat ito sa anumang para­ngal na matanggap nito.

“I’m also very proud of Canino because all throughout the season we saw how good she was. Say for example, Game Two of the Finals when we were ahead but still lost charot (just kidding),” ani Belen.

Alam ni Belen na malayo ang mararating ni Canino na isa sa pinakamahusay na outside hitter sa kasalukuyan.

“We really know how good she played. We were teammates during the ASEAN and since then, I knew she’s going to make her mark,” ani Belen.
