Tour of Luzon: ‘great revival’ papadyak na
PAOAY, Ilocos Norte — Lalaban nang sabayan ang Exodus Army sa 16 pang tropa sa pagpedal ng 190.70-kilometer Paoay-Paoay Stage One ng Tour of Luzon: Great Revival ngayong umaga dito sa harap ng San Agustin Church.
“Lahat naman ng teams dito maghahangad ng No 1 (championship). Eh ‘di No. 1 na din ang expectation namin,” ani Exodus Army team captain Cris Joven. “Lahat sa team namin may kakayahan sa sprint, sa road, sa akyatan. Kaya lalaban kami nang sabayan.”
Makakasama ng 38-anyos na si Joven sa Exodus Army sina Dominic Perez, Kenneth Solis, Emmanuel Dave Montemayor, Wenz Andrie Desabelle, Genobivo Gocotano, Daryl Dulatre at Kenneth Lacuesta.
Papadyak ang Tour sa 60 siyudad at munisipalidad sa pitong probinsya sa North at Central Luzon—Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac at Pampanga.
Inihahandog ng Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, DuckWorld PH at Cignal TV, ang team champion ay tatanggap ng P1 milyon at P500k ang makukuha ng individual overall winner.
“We are all excited. We are all thankful the Tour of Luzon is back. Thank you MVP (Manny V. Pangilinan). Thank you MPTC and the MVP Group,” ani DuckWorld PH chairman ng organizer Partrick “Pató” Gregorio.
“We are praying for the safety and health of all riders and all the people involved in this eight-day race especially in this hot weather,” ani PhilCycling at Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino sa event na suportado rin ng Meralco, Metro Pacific Investment Corporation, Maynilad, Smart, PLDT, Landco Pacific Corporation, mWELL at Megaworld.
Bukod sa Exodus Army, ang iba pang kasali ay ang 7-Eleven Cliqq Roadbike Philippines, Standard Insurance Philippines, Go For Gold Philippines, Victoria Sports Pro Cycling Team, Philippines Under-23-Tom N Toms Coffee, Excellent Noodles, DReyna Orion Cement, Dandez T-Prime Cycling Team, MPT Drive Hub Cycling Team, 1 Team Visayas, One Cycling Mindanao at Team Pangasinan.
Nasa karera din ang mga foreign teams na CCN Factory HK ng Hong Kong, Malaysia Pro Cycling, Bryton Racing Team ng Taiwan at Gapyeong Cycling Team ng South Korea.
