‘Trans Health QC STARS’ inilunsad
MANILA, Philippines — Inilunsad ng Quezon City government ang “Trans Health QC STARS”, para sa transgender health concerns ng bansa bilang bahagi ng selebrasyon ng Pride Month ngayong Hunyo.
Layon ng programa na mapaigting ang health care program para sa mga transgender.
Kaalinsabay nito, nilagdaan ni City Mayor Joy Belmonte at TLF SHARE Inc. Acting Executive Director Anastacio Marasigan Jr ang memorandum of understanding (MOU) na layong palawigin pa ang health services partikular sa mga pangangailangan ng mga transgender and gender-diverse community sa lungsod.
Kasama sa programa ang libreng gender-affirming hormone therapy consultation at transgender-inclusive HIV service delivery.
“The trans health program will offer a range vital services to the unique needs of transgender individuals that promotes mental, emotional well-being, transgender individuals, often face, difficult, mental health challenges, due to societal stigma and discrimination. This initiative is more than a health care service, it is our testament to our unwavering dedication to equity, dignity and the well being of every citizen regardless of identity or sexual orientation,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
Sinabi naman Dr. Ramona Asuncion-Abarquez ng QC Health Department, malaki ang pakinabang ng programa para pangalagaan ang kalusugan ng transgender community.
