MANILA, Philippines — Inimbitahan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang 19 bansa para magsilbihing observers sa gaganaping Phl-US Balikatan joint war games na aarangkada na sa darating na Abril 21.

Ayon kay Col. Xerxes Trinidad kabilang sa mga naimbitahang 19 bansa ay ang Canada, Germany at United Kingdom na kinumpirma na ang kanilang pagdalo sa mga gaganaping event.

Ang Phl-US Balikatan ay lalahukan ng 5,000 mga sundalo ng AFP at 11,000 naman ang magmumula sa US troops. Ang Australia ay lalahok din na nasa 200 ang puwersa habang una nang nagpahayag ang Japanese Self Defense Force na magsisilbing observers.

“This year’s exercise with expanded participation from regional partners, underscores a shared commitment to peace, security, and stability in the Indo-Pacific,” saad ni Trinidad.

“Balikatan 2025 underscores the ironclad ­alliance between the Philippines and the United States, reaffirming mutual defense commitments under the 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty,” ayon sa opisyal.

Magsisilbing tampok sa Balikatan ang full-scaler joint training ng dalawang magkaalyadong puwersa upang subukin ang interoperability at pagpapalakas ng operational na kahandaan sa anumang ­mapaghamong mga scenario.

Kabilang dito ang Multilateral Maritime Event (MME) na lalahukan ng Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon; Command and Control Exercise (C2X); Combined Joint All-Domain Operations (CJADO) tulad ng Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Maritime Strike (MARSTRIKE) at Counter Landing Live Fire Exercises (CLLF).
