Alert level 3 vs Ebola sa W. Africa, pinag-aaralan pa- DFA

MANILA, Philippines – Pinag-aaralan ng pamahalaan kung itataas sa crisis alert level 3 o voluntary evacuation phase sa West African countries na may Ebola virus outbreak para sa kaligtasan ng mga Pinoy doon.

Sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na wala pang ipinatutupad na boluntaryong paglilikas para sa mga Pinoy sa mga bansa sa West Africa, partikular sa Liberia, Sierra Leone at Guinea.

Ayon kay Asec. Charles Jose, masusi na nilang pinag-aaralan kung itataas ang alerto sa mga nabanggit na bansa habang nakamonitor ang mga opisyal ng Embahada at Konsulado na nakakasakop sa West Africa.

“We said that we are preparing to do this by mid-November which was about this past weekend [but] there are some finishing touches, some mechanisms that we are waiting to be put in place before we officially announce the raising of the alert level three,” ani Jose sa pagtatanong ng media.

Nabatid na may anim na overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) mula Sierra Leone ang nagpunta sa DFA at nagpahayag ng kanilang pangamba na baka hindi na sila makaba­lik at makapagtrabaho sa nasabing bansa dahil sa naturang paglaganap ng Ebola.
