Pelikula naka-P32.5 M kahit Black Saturday Sarah nagpapakita na ng senyales ng pagma-mature

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

Bago pa man nag-open last Black Saturday in theaters nationwide ang reunion starrer, yes, after four years nina John Lloyd Cruz at Sarah Geronimo, ang It Takes a Man and a Woman, marami na ang nagpe-predict na kikita ito.

Yes, not only because starring nga ang love team nina John Lloyd at Sarah, plus directed ang pelikula ng blockbuster director na si Cathy Garcia-Molina and co-produced ng Star Cinema at Viva Films, kung hindi sa trailer pa lamang ay maiengganyo ka na kahit hindi ka fan ng mga bida na panoorin ito.

But for It Takes a Man and a Woman to gross a whooping P32.5M, yes, P32.5M on its opening day pa lamang, no doubt, na whoopee nga ito.

The film’s second day showing is a Sunday, Easter Sunday, it will not be surprising if the movie takes an even higher gross at the box office.

Congrats to everyone behind the production and, most of all, to John Lloyd and Sarah! And, of course, kay Direk Cathy!

You all deserve a pat on the shoulder.

By the way, Salve A., we all have to prove if true (we have yet to see the movie at this time na sinusulat naman ang column na ito) ang kuwentong ito.

Well, sa honeymoon scene raw nina John Lloyd at Sarah ay may nakakawindang na eksena ang dalawa which would surprise, especially, the diehard Sarah G. fans but will welcome it, too, no doubt. Dahil nangangahulugan lang na Sarah has matured as an actress and, thus, willing na siya to do mature scenes.

Ask lang namin: Is the movie just the start ng pag-blossom ni Sarah into a more mature performer? After all nga naman, she is not getting any younger.

Sarah is turning 26 on her birthday in July.

Alex natengga sa TV5 dahil sa isang executive!

Wonder how Toni Gonzaga is feeling now that her younger and only sister Alex Gonzaga is joining ABS-CBN anew?

We all remember, of course, that Alex started her showbiz career in ABS-CBN via some teenage shows produced and directed by Edgar Mortiz. It was Direk Edgar, if we recall, who ‘‘christened’’ her the name Alex. She used to sport the name Katherine Gonzaga, obviously her real name.

But as we all know, before she was given the break on ABS-CBN kumbaga, Alex, through her Mommy Pinty who is also her talent manager and that of her Ate Toni, too, decided to sign up with TV5.

A contract star of the network for five years, Alex started right naman sa TV5. She was given the hosting job in the talk show Juicy.

They gave her drama roles via Babaeng Hampaslupa at Enchanted Garden. Sinubukan din ang talent niya sa comedy.

What went wrong with Alex’s career at TV5 ay na-feel ng mga nagmamalasakit sa kanya when Juicy was replaced with another showbiz talk program The Latest Update. Only Cristy Fermin and Shalala were retained sa bagong talk program and assigned to a portion naman ang dating co-host niya sa Juicy na si IC Carvajal, where he conducts live interviews with celebrities.

After daw Alex’s contract with TV5 expired, according to Pinty, nag-freeze na ang career ng anak.

This we didn’t find surprising. Toni may have felt that with her and Alex in the same network ’di kaya, in the end, magkatotoo ang kasabihang ‘‘two is a crowd?’’

Asked by a friend entertainment writer kung bakit ‘‘ginanon’’ si Alex ng TV5, balita raw niya, sabi ni Pinty, may isang bagong executive sa Kapatid na apparently ‘di feel si Alex.
