NBA players tutulong sa ‘Yolanda’ victims

MANILA, Philippines - Bibisita sina NBA players Robin Lopez at Wesley Matthews ng Portland Trail Blazers kasama si NBA legend Avery Johnson sa Northern Cebu bukas upang tulungan ang mga na-ging biktima ng bagyong Yolanda, ayon sa National Basketball Association at World Vision.

Tutulong sina Lopez, Matthews at Johnson sa proyekto ng NBA  na ibangon ang mga bata at pamilya na naapektuhan ng bagyo sa Compostela Municipality at magdaraos din sila ng basketball cli-nics doon.

Ang NBA Family ay nakapagbigay na ng $2.2 million para sa Typhoon Yolanda relief efforts, kabilang ang $250,000 contribution sa World Vision noong November 2013 ng NBA at ng National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).

“Typhoon Yolanda caused sweeping destruction on a national scale, and those who were most impacted are still coping with its devastation months after,” pahayag ni Carlo Singson, NBA Country Manager, Philippines.  “The residents in Northern Cebu are one such group, and we support World Vision Philippines’ tireless efforts to help the city and its communities rebuild.  We hope our visit will help lift the spirits of the people of Northern Cebu as the city continues its road to recovery.”
