Naimbitahan ang 54-year-old Filipina Broadway star na awitin ang United States national anthem sa Major League Baseball game between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels last June 17.
The Yankees shared a video of Lea singing the anthem via X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Thank you to Tony-Award Winning Actress Lea Salonga for tonight’s beautiful rendition of our National Anthem.”
On Instagram Stories, nagpasalamat si Lea sa imbitasyon ng Yankees para awitin ang kanilang national anthem: “Thanks for having me! Go NYY!”
Kasalukuyan siyang nasa New York performing on Broadway via Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends kunsaan nakatanggap siya ng nomination sa Distinguished Performance Award at the 2025 Drama League Awards.
Sa August ay nasa Pilipinas siya para sa Philippine staging of Into the Woods.
