Namamayagpag ang Pinoy actors sa mga US series sa iba’t ibang streaming platforms.
Kabilang ang two Filipino actors sa new cast members para sa Seasons 2 and 3 of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender. Ito ay sina Dolly de Leon at Jon Jon Briones.
Gagampanan ni Dolly ang role na twins na sina Lo and Li. Si Jonjon naman ay ang sword master and White Lotus warrior na si Piandao.
Si Dolly ay kasama rin sa cast ng Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 with Nicole Kidman na nag-premiere na sa Amazon Prime last May 21.
Si Briones na unang nakilala sa original cast ng Miss Saigon in 1989 in London ay huling napanood sa Hulu series na Class of ‘09.
Ang bida ng The Last Airbender na si Gordon Cormier who plays Aang ay Filipino-Canadian. Kasama rin sa series ang Fil-American na si Lourdes Faberes as Earth Kingdom officer General Sung.
Miss World Ph, nangangalampag
Humihingi ng suporta ang ating Miss World Philippines na si Krishnah Gravidez para maiuwi niya ang Miss World crown.
Sa official Instagram account ng Miss World Philippines organization, kinakalampag nito ang Filipino pageant fans and its social media followers to support Krishnah in the Miss World Multimedia Challenge by following her profile in the Miss World app.
Ang Multimedia Challenge ay isa sa pagdadaanan ni Krishnah para sa journey niya to the Miss World coronation night.
Kailan lang, in-announce ng Miss World Philippines organization na kabilang si Krishnah sa mga candidate from Asia and Oceania that moved to the quarterfinals of the Miss World Talent Competition.
Aside from the Talent Competition, she also placed in the top 32 for the Miss World Sports Challenge. Nag-top 8 siya sa Asia and Oceania and top two for overall badminton.
Since arriving in Telangana, India, nagpakitang gilas na siya during the Dances of the World opening ceremony at the Miss World pageant, wearing a costume made by designer Simeon Cayetano.
Gym teacher, second black sa AI
Nagwagi bilang American Idol Season 23 si Jamal Roberts, a 27-year-old gym teacher from Meridian, Mississippi.
Si Jamal ang second black man na manalo ng title. Nauna rito si Ruben Studdard na nanalo noong season 2 in 2003.
“I’m still trying to process this… God is so good. From my first step on that stage to this unbelievable moment, I never dreamed a kid from my hometown would one day be called American Idol. I’m so grateful for every person who believed in me when I was just chasing a dream,” post ni Jamal on Instagram.
Ang runners-up niya ay sina John Foster from Louisiana and Breanna Nix from Texas.
Jamal has three daughters: Harmoni (6), Lyrik (4), and newborn Gianna Grace, who was born in April 2025. Uuwi nga raw siya agad para makita for the first time ang kanyang newborn baby.
At kahit nanalo siya, hindi raw niya iiwan ang pagiging teacher.
As the winner, Jamal gets a cash prize of $250,000 and a recording contract.
