WALTHAM, Mass.--Hindi nakipag-ensayo si Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce dahil sa sumasakit niyang heel injury at maaaring hindi maglaro sa kanilang season opener laban sa Knicks sa New York sa Christmas Day.
Hindi sumama si Pierce sa shoot around matapos ang session, ngunit hindi tiyak ni coach Doc Rivers kung makakapaglaro ang kanilang team captain.
“He didn’t do anything,” wika ni Rivers. “He seemed to be working more as far as working out, so we’ll see. I still think it’s doubtful, but we’ll see.”
Kung hindi makakalaro si Pierce, sinabi ni Rivers na si Sasha Pavlovic ang papalit sa kanyang puwesto kagaya ng ginawa nito sa preseason finale laban sa Toronto Raptors noong Miyerkules kasama sa starting five sina Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Jermaine O’Neal at Kevin Garnett.
“It’s the medical staff’s decision,” ani Rivers kay Pierce. “It’s 100 percent the medical staff. I think this year it’s really going to have to be that because we can’t trust them in that because if they do play and further their injury, and they miss 10 games, that’s (like) 25 games because of the shortened season.”
